Walter A. Stosch, MBA, CPA, CVAWalter Stosch is a Principal Consultant with Stosch, Dacey & George, P.C. He specializes in litigation consulting and forensic accounting services including business valuations and economic damages. He is also a retired partner of the national CPA firm, Deloitte Touche.

Mr. Stosch has performed business valuations during the course of his career as a certified public accountant since 1961 for estate and gift tax purposes, merger and acquisition evaluations, buy-sell agreements, stockholder and business disputes, and for the purpose of equitable distribution under state statutes.

Other assignments include evaluating economic damages and loss of profits damages in breach of contract and antitrust matters, condemnations, personal injury or wrongful death cases and other civil actions, assistance with bond claims, financial evaluation of embezzlement and fraud claims and serving as a consultant to law firms in financial and tax analysis of prospective litigation and business disputes and in settlement negotiations.

Prior to the merger of his firm in February, 1988, Mr. Stosch was a founding senior partner of the regional CPA firm, Gary, Stosch, Walls & Co., P.C., headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. He is a former managing partner and management consultant partner of that firm.

Mr. Stosch has an undergraduate degree (accounting) from the University of Richmond and a graduate degree (MBA), also from the University of Richmond where he served as an adjunct faculty member for several years teaching managerial accounting and managerial cost accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst.

He has qualified as an expert witness before the Internal Revenue Service, Federal District and Bankruptcy Courts and State Courts. He served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, 1983-1991, and is currently Majority Leader of the Virginia Senate.

Testifying Experience

With over thirty years experience as a practicing CPA and financial expert, Mr. Stosch has testified as an expert witness in civil and criminal matters before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the Circuit Courts of the City of Richmond, Henrico County, Chesterfield County, Alexandria, Fairfax County, Lynchburg, Rustburg, Virginia Beach, Tazewell, Arlington, Salem, Portsmouth and elsewhere in other pretrial hearings. He has also qualified as an expert witness in the United States Bankruptcy Court and before the Internal Revenue Service and the State Corporation Commission.
